There's a train coming in
I can hear it.
At the station
Cold wind whipping 'round my legs.
My hands are shaking.
I am waiting
For the train.
There's a storm blowing in
You can see it.
From the platform
Dark clouds racing 'cross the sky.
My knees are shaking.
I am waiting
For the train.
There's someone now alighting
I can see her.
On the platform
Rain pelts loudly on the roof.
My heart is jumping.
No more waiting
She is here.
you are such a busy red hen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Jo. I love this one too. This piece, in the first lines, i felt a small sense of dread really, thinking oh no, whats in the train? But the last few lines, a relief, your sense of joy shines through.
ReplyDeleteAPPLAUSE! Cheers, anne
